Spark isn't the issue. Cost is.

There is no performance gain from any one particular coil. It doesn't take a lot of fire to light the mixture in a neon.

Ignition upgrades are more for older distributor ignition systems. Our direct ignition systems are already really efficient and can handle even heavily boosted cars.

i wouldn't go so far as saying we have direct injection. Pretty close, yes. but not direct.

What Racer12306 meant, was direct is more like Coil On Plug (COP).

DIS stands for Distibutorless Ignition System (what we have).

Since there are still plug wires involved, technically it is not direct.

Edit: Meh, I just noticed Frank typed injection. :D

I'm sure he meant ignition.

Not necessarily. If I didn't try to fix something that wasn't technically broken, I never would've found out bigger problems that surfaced while fixing something that didn't need to be fixed. Something else was broken that I wasn't looking at, that would've fucked me, had I gone on not knowing about it. So :P

Yeah I meant to type distributorless, brain fart. I had VW on my mind for some reason.

Actually I meant direct injection.

I misread ignition to read injection.
