Well, I got the Depo projectors

Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

Well, I got the Depo projectors

And I'm fairly pleased. Considering I had one lamp broken and the other one was cracked on on its last legs... So I went cheap and ordered the Depos. So, how many have swapped the low beam bulb for HIDs?

Yeah, I know the car is dirty. Wah... The lights were delivered today, and when I got home from work I tore out the old ones. And between (buffalo) burger flips on the BBQ, swapped in the Depos. The driver's side lamp was close enough to call it aimed, the passenger side needed to come down a bit.

Overall, I like them. But will probably do the low beam HID kit from vvme. But I think I want to bump the high beam to a 70w bulb.

Whatever you do use a relay harness to protect your factory wiring and your multifunction switch. And alot of people with those projectors swapped over to HIDs.

LilSparkplug, do you mean a relay harness with the Depos or with the HID? If I bump to higher wattage bulbs for the high beams I will add a relay harness...

I'm a firm believer in relays for lighting. Don't want high current voltage in my dashboard... :beatstick: Learned that the hard 30 years ago...

I'll see if I can get a good pic of the output. Yes, they seem a little "flashlighty", but I can live with them...

I swapped HIDs into mine. I am much happier with the light output from HIDs. Mine are 5k. I can get pictures eventually if you are interested.

Nice plans. What color HIDs are you planning to go with?

Well then, after a few mornings drives with these lights, I'm still fairly happy with them. But I am very convinced to swap in the HIDs and a relay harness. And 70W high beams. I don't really think I need any brighter than that for the headlights. Although I still plan to add some 100 or even 130W driving lights in the future. Honestly, nightime in the desert is REALLY dark.

So 2 questions...
1. People really happy with the vvme.com HIDs?
2. Where is the best place to get a relay harness (or at least the sockets and plugs for the headlights)?

I figure with the HIDs not liking to be turned on and off, I need to have them stay on with the high beams. The relays will keep the MFS safe.

And as mentioned, if that isn't enough light, I can add more lighting. Like I did for my Jeep (I did the 9004 to 9007 swap and higher wattage bulbs). And this wasn't an issue when I let my son drive the Neon for the last couple years. But now that I have my car back, I want more light!

I like my vvme kit. Only thing is they are 10k and they look like 6k. I have them in my foglights and quality seems to be good. Bulbs and ballast have been going strong now for about 3 months. I got my relay off eBay but vvme sells them now too

Do the Low beams stay lit up when the high beams are turned on with those?

Not now they don't. But they will when I do the HID mod.

I had a good experience with vvme, no complaints except for the communication issues. i got my relay harness from retrofit and they sent the wrong one but they all do basically the same thing so it worked out. HIDs ftw
