What would you do if...
you ever hit the big lottery. Like the stupid amounts, >$300 million.
My wife and I drove up to Rochester this past weekend. Got talking about it to pass the time.
House
-3 levels, including basement
-just plain badass
-5-6 acres
Garage
-16 or 20 car capacity
-full machine shop with CNC mill and lathe, as well as manual mill and lathe, welder, etc, etc, all the fixins
-clean room for engine building
-chassis dyno
-engine dyno
-flowbench
-each car bay would be about 50' deep, have a lift and a full set of tools. (50' deep so that you wouldn't have to pull into the lift area to park the car)
- heat and a/c
Cars
Me
-my 85 Monte SS with a similar engine to the one built for GM, 2000hp LSx with a lenco and a pro street chassis setup. street legal on pump gas.
-Ferrari 430 Scuderia
-Buick GNx, stock
-Cadillac CTS-V, 562hp family car
-Dodge Ram 3500 w/cummins
-1966 Chevy II, Super Stock car, 327/350hp, 4 speed. SS/C i believe
-Pro Modified car, Willys or something cool
-tow rig for SS car and Pro Mod car
-Mini Cooper S JCW, autox car
-1gn SOHC neon drag to see just what one could really do
Her
-Convertible Beetle
-Mini Cooper
-Car similar to the Caliber in size, but just nicer
-I'm sure theres more
Would also pay off all immediate and mildly extended family's debt, donate to various organizations around here.

Being only 21 I would take it in payments instead of the lump sum.
I don't like big houses. So a 3 bedroom ranch for me. In Las Vegas.
Garage the size of texas. Just a crazy amount of cars like neons, eclipses, etc. Just parts for them everywhere to trick them out. Own a couple lambos. Just because I want different colors. Go gambling every day. And drink coronas like they are going out of buisness.
Oh and a couple big ass sharks surrounding my house to protect my shit.

I like the shark idea.
Big ass moat and some barbed wire so the odds of the person not cutting themselves is pretty minimal.

On a more serious note....
House:
Find a HUGE fucking chunk of land outside a major city... not sure which city, but somerwhere it doesn't fucking snow.
Build huge ass fence around said land. I want some wooded area.
Have decent sized 2 story house, with a basement, built. Fully furnished. The biggest most expensive electronics money can buy in said house. (i love gadgets) I want a god damn server room and everything.
Garage:
Everything frank said, but only 10-car.
And i want an office in the garage
I want to be able to do anything I need to my car without leaving the house.
Cars:
-Smash the cobalt into a tree at high speeds
-Go buy a lambo. Smash it into a tree, film it, post on fuck ton of car forums
-Buy a vintage mustang. Gotta be mint, all serials matching, the works. Smash it into a tree, film it, watch mustang owners everywhere cry
-Buy whatever car I see fit at the moment, mod it, drive it till I'm bored
I really don't want any specific car right now
Other:
-Any close family member or friend, pay off their debts, give them 50k to live on. What they choose to do with it, is up to them
-Open up a high class piercing parlor. Sell only gold and diamond jewelry, everyone in a suit and tux, make it the classiest piercing place i can
-Wake up some mornings, and do fucking nothing, and not worry if I'll be able to pay the bills or not

I can think of so much.
Neither of you guy's had the idea to multiply that money.
Shit. i would buy Jm Family Corp. Includes my work Jm lexus.
Buy few srt4's few 1gn's and 2gn's do some diff to each. 1 show car, 1 dd, 1 track etc.
Decent size house, Full garage with all of the perks like said above (Frank and korn). But i would add alighment machine and good amount of tires. Some cars like lambos, porches, lexus, benz, bimmer.
Deff some Atv to cruse around the crib (about 8 acres) some dirt bikes. Deff a busa (1300cc on boost)
.
Deff guest house and a good praty place full DJ set. (outdoors/and indoor) building By the huge pool and a nice ass BBQ area by the home club.
deff fly entire 2gn (2 way ticket) for a major 2gn bbq.
I would love to have some go-karts etc.
wow i can keep going for hours. but that's some of what i would do.

why try to get more money?
i figured it out, if you get 65% of $350 million and took it over 20 years that would be over $11 million per year after tax.
i think i'll manage

You guys know that it is better to take the lump sum and make it work for you over time instead right?
By taking the lump sum and placing it in banking options you would be able to live VERY well off the interest alone or if you are good at investing you can stand to make anywhere from 5-10% a year off of whatever you invest.
As for me winning the jackpot I would have some many things to do it would be ridiculous. Top priority would be a restored P-47M Thunderbolt WWII era fighter. Always wanted one of those.
I would buy an Aston Martin DB9, my old SRT-4, Jaguar XJR, Koenigsegg CCGT, and some other random cars.
I would put at least 100,000 into my Challenger
Build the 8000 sq ft house that I have designed but will obviously will never be able to afford otherwise. Put a garage behind it that would rival any mechanics garage.
Take my friends on a year long vacation to where ever we wanted to go, pay off all debts of my family and give a million to each of my parents and my brother.
Lastly I would look into buying a business of some sort and let that make money for me as well.
Good luck to those 2gners who play the lotto!

Work until I get a customer issues that involves. "MY ** insert item here** doesn't work right"
Take out a hammer and completely smash the customer's item. Then while tossing the customer a couple hundred dollar bills I say "No, Now it doesn't work."
Throw my keys in the air and walk out and never return.

nice house but not too big.
huge garage with a ton of tools/ lifts etc etc. (Pretty much what racer described)
Live out in the middle of a cornfield. Build a giant concrete skatepark. Have my own roadcourse/drag strip.
A ton of Mopars. First car I would mess with would be my SRT-4. Ship my car to DCR for them to do everything to it to make it a 9/10 second street car, yet have the exterior look the same minus some nice slicks up front. Then proceed to own everybody on the road.
A bunch of different Vipers.

I would buy my wife the house she has alway wanted and build a warehouse and lease every type off exotic car and pretty much do what the guys on Top Gear do all day. I would give only our parents a huge chunk of money so they can enjoy life. I would invest a larg chunk of it into something so my kids kids will be well off. I would just make it so they have to respect there money

I guess I'm a little more conservative when it comes to my ideas:
-Probably live in a normal, suburban neighborhood in NY. (I <3 NY state!
)
-Normal, 2 story house with 2-3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, white picket fence, etc.
-Of course, I would have probably a 120" tv in the living room.
-3 car garage with a Dodge Viper, Ford GT, and the Audi as my beater.
-Security up the wahoo (motion lights, cameras, etc.) because you can NEVER be too careful.
-Pool in the backyard with a jacuzzi.
Then most of it would go towards family, kids, and such. I would of course have some left over so that I could comfortably live out the rest of my life. I'd be more than happy with that setup.

Honestly, I wish/dream and think big, but in reality I'd pay of my debts along with close friends and family. (ONLY my close ones...)
toss some money at a car, buy some gold/silver/diamonds (ALWAYS worth more than a piece of paper...)the rest into savings, IRA, stocks, ect ect (i fucking love numbers) and become a business partner with a friend of mine who owns a piercing shop up in ann arbor. he's damn good at what he does (brings in 3-4k cash in his pocket a week... for being a piercing only shop) and I'd much rather get back into piercing for the rest of my life than do graphic design.
every piece of metal in my body would be changed out with gold and diamonds, get Italian suits to wear all the time, and just be one classy mother fucker that travels around doing business.
ohhhhhhh to dream >.<
