My Senior Design Project

Post by ZeroChad » Tue Sep 08, 2009 4:34 pm

I thought some of you guys would be interested my project. Two other people and myself developed this prototype exhibit for the local children's museum. The exhibit will be wall mounted. Out of the four other prototypes created by my class, ours was picked for implementation.

The final project will be quite different with a lexan cover, bigger/different switches, a larger board, more leds, vinyl instead of paint, different end goals, and a few other changes. The project is run using an adruino which is interfacing with TI chips (TLC5940NT) These chips allow for individually controlled pwm channels, which sink each led.

This project was pretty much the bain of my existence the past two monthes. We were going to get it vinyl coated, but the lady couldn't do it at the last minute, and we were forced to paint the entire project by hand. (4people x 8hrs).

Hope you found it interesting. I can't take any more pictures b/c a cooler fell over in my backseat, soaking my camera :-(

Ive heard of the adruinos. If I ever get my shed built, I'm gonna use one of those to "fire" LEDs in a SBC firing order.
