heres all the info ive collected, since im planning on doin the same thing, ..
see if the tranny is from an r/t or a base 95 neon.. 3.55 tranny has the long 5th gear, better fuel economy while cruising i guess..
but the 3.94 from the r/t would be my choice..
parts..
Cable tranny from 1st gen (gearing doesn't matter. It's your preference)
Clutch cable from 2nd gen
Right(passenger) Half-shaft from 2nd gen
Clutch/Brake pedal assembly w/ sensors from year 2000 2nd gen mtx
(***WARNING*** 2000 neon only because of the cable trannies) 2001+ years are hydraulic trannies..
Tranny "motor" mount
Shifting cables and brackets from 1st gen
All tranny sensors and brackets(except bobble strut bracket) from 1st gen tranny
Shifter assembly from 2nd gen or SRT4
Boot from 2nd gen or SRT (knob depends on shifter)
Clutch and trow-out bearing

better one, w/ pics and details..

..as i've been told, the ATX and MTX mounts are basically the same - but i could be wrong as i've never done it man...tamadrumr88 wrote:the srt trans mount will only work with the T-850. the 2g trans mount is for the T-350... its the engine mounts (top and bottom) that are interchangable

Correct.. the Tranny mount from a 2GN MTX and ATX is different... as well as the tranny mount for the SRT-4

if you pick up an older cable tranny., and wanted to use hydraulic, you would need the bellhousing from a hydro clutch tranny, the part im not 100% on is if you can just use the bellhousing from your existing atx tranny, or if it needs to specifically come from an mtx hydro tranny....
