Exhaust Options

Post by BigDutch » Mon Sep 28, 2009 12:07 pm

Hello all,

Well the day has come that the novelty of the SRT-4 cat back on my 01 Neon R/T has worn off with the Wife.

She now wants me to get something a little more quiet.

I would idealy like to get the Thermal R&D axel back, however I was just informed by MP that it has been discontinued.

I am finding little to no options for the 2GN R/T's for direct bolt on kits.

The ideal situation for me right now would be a bolt on kit, SO, if anyone can chime in with some sound clips and part numbers of some kits that they have installed and enjoyed that would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks in advance
Jordan

The Thermal R&D is still available a few places online. I bought mine used on here for like $180 last year and I love the way it sounds.

Another popular option seems to be the camaro muffler and some sort of tips. Check out the exhaust thread MEasy started

Bought two resonators/mufflers for my srt 4 line, does the job really good of quieting the r/t down! 30$ each plus installment for about a grand total of 100$.

Here what it looks like

I think it's a good option if you want to keep srt4 line

Wasn't talking about you. You learned your lesson. :) I'm sure a couple glasspacks would do that thing good, but stock I think it sounds like shit.

but there is absolutely no restriction on straight pipes... If you're running an SRT rear section the only restriction on the exhaust is the cat.

I'm not saying it sounds good either, but for a race setup it would be ideal, and pass emissions.

Just get a full custom exhaust of your liking.

It would be the same of less than an expensive rear section, or full catback.
