I changed the little c clip from the original axel to this one and i cant get it to go in. Help me out. Oh and the seal around that what is that called and how do you change it. Thanks.

You can use a screwdriver (CAREFULLY) to pry out the old seal.
You don't want to nick the surface the seal sits in.

I usually use a block of wood (or a seal driver) to tap in the new one.

Regarding the axle shaft:
Is this the same one that came out of the car ?? Or is it a replacement from a junkyard or parts store ??

I never could get the axle back in with the clip on there. I even swapped the old clip to the new axle with no luck. In the end I just removed the clip since it isn't really needed.

I'm about to change my axle seal as well, sounds like a pretty straight forward process.

You have to slide it in very gently, get it started and the nice and easy slide it in the rest of the way. Make sure it's properly seated by pulling it out and putting it back in repeatedly, it may get a little messy after a while.

Jamming it in there makes no one happy.

Yeah, I'm horrible.

it can be a bitch to do.. when i did it the first time i borrowed a seal puller from autozone.. didnt really help at all.....

tried prying the thing out but couldnt get any leverage on it

ended up having to take that plate off and getting it out with a screwdriver from the inside.....

if you end up doing that, make sure to seal it up with a line of RTV or equivalent otherwise it will leak like a bastard.. at least it did for me a few weeks ago when i took it off and forgot to put a new gasket of RTV on it..

I punched mine out from the inside as well, only because I had the MTX lying there in two pieces.
