Hey guys need some help/advice. I will start with a little info on me before I get to the car. I am not new to Neons, been around several first gens before selling it. Now the little brother just bought a 2001 5sp LX . ( He bought my 95' when I sold it and I still work on it when he breaks it ) He wants to build a show car with some go. I am new to the show, but the go will be simple.
Where to get the best deals on body kits? He is wanting a Showoff/Combat kit? (ebay link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-01-02 ... 6187QQrdZ1 )
Best way to lower a 2nd gen? Springs, coilovers or bags?
What offset for wheels? Looking at staying with 17's. What size tire works best without rubbing?
I am quite sure I will be doing much more surfing and asking questions. From what I have read so far you guys know your stuff.
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Rusty

I'd stay away from the best deals on eBay. You'll end up doubling what you pay for the kit in prep body work. Those kits that you find like that don't come ready to install - They usuall require extensive body prep work. This is the aftermarket parts world - You get what you pay for.Neonguy95 wrote:Where to get the best deals on body kits? He is wanting a Showoff/Combat kit?
A lot of people go with the Mopar Stage 3 Coilovers. They're pretty pricey, but well worth it... Or so I've heard. I went the cheap way and got the Mopar Stage 1 Lowering Springs (Approx. 2" drop front & rear) and picked them up used for less than $100 shipped.Neonguy95 wrote:Best way to lower a 2nd gen?
