Starter Prob.

Post by Dimas » Mon Oct 19, 2009 12:52 am

03 R/T around 109k miles on it.

Car wouldn't start yesterday and I replaced the starter today, kind of the same problem but clicking sound like it was trying to. Any suggestions?

Also on my way to get the new starter, I did the lil clutch start, my gauges went crazy on me and all starting jumping everywhere, so I turned off the radio and kept it in high rpms and eventually returned back to normal, it only happen once and this is the first time I've seen it.

Now that the starter is replaced my guages tend to the "reset" go all the way over to the right then center and back to "zero" and then go to whatever is actually happening. That was when the car actually started for a lil bit, now I'm back to my problem w/ new starter and no start, tomorrow I'm gonna go and check the battery. Any suggestions? Haven't done spark plugs in a while, was thinking about the pulsar ones at modernperf? Yes? No? Maybe so?
Heh.

Sounds like a bad battery. That's what I'd bet at this point. I just went through this whole dang problem myself. Take the battery in and have it tested.

Or it could just be the terminals/cables.

Nah, it was a bad battery, I cleaned the terminals and everything but since autozone is no longer 24/7 in my area I had to wait till today to find out it was the battery.

So far no problems, while I waited I went and test drove a SRT 4 lol.
