send me a link for aftermarket radio install. dont think its too hard but i want a guide just to be safe incase i run into problems

Do you have a stereo yet? If you don't, just buy one from crutchfield.com, they send all the parts AND car specific directions.

And if you do have one, buy a new one anyway, sell the radio, and keep the parts and directions

Buy radio and wiring harness. Remove old stereo and wire the harness up to the factory wires following the directions that come with the adapter harness. Install antenna adapter. Plug in new stereo and enjoy. The only problems you are most likely to run into is if you don't following the wiring directions and hook up the wrong wires or cheap out on the installation and something comes apart later.

and for the love of 2gn, please use proper splice connectors when puting the adapter harness together. I've seen too many ghetto setups that twist the wire together with some tape and thats it. be smart and use butt connectors with crimps or the equivelent.

I hope you mean soldering! Splice connectors can still mess with your signals.

agree.

But splice connectors are better then eletrical tapa and twisted wire.

for stuff inside the car (out of the weather) i use butt splices or something similar with some shrink tube around it, never in all my years have i had a problem with this. now yes for under the hood (exposed to weather), soldering and shrink tubing is your best options as it wont corrode or come loose that way.

I use the spade connectors. Never had a problem. If I use the enclosed ones I don't bother with tape, but if i use the ones that aren't enclosed I wrap each with a bit of electrical tape.
