early door panels are different that 03+ which are molded as one single piece of plastic. I noticed this on my 00 which has a separate upper piece that is covered in material not just plastic.

i have 4 sets of early 2 piece door panels too play with, this set is coming out how i want it too so far.

i was lurking around the SRT and they are all high-5ing because they managed to wrap door inserts, one guy said he drilled out the plastic welds with a 1/2 drill bit im going to try that tomorrow.

I used an electric soldering iron and melted them, then re-melted them back together when I was done.

did you do it as if you were cutting a circle around the joint.

i was thinking of use the drill and then melting it back together i have done it that way before. i cut them apart with a knife the first couple times i did it, too dangerous though.

If you drill it, it won't adhere properly with a regular adhesive, you're better off melting it, taking the extra time and re-melting it back on to assure that it stays put. Unless you have plastic welder.

Not normally in a good way, IMHO.

I think a clear cut theme or vision is definitely the way to go though. Envision the parts that you want, and be sure they all go together.

For example, Crystal's car. The coloring, interior, engine, etc all work together as her theme.

As opposed to so many other "show" car owners that just keep throwing miscellaneous parts at the car for no reason.

well i think lambos will suit it.

the interior will be carried out through out the trunk and engine bay as well.

You're going to put plaid in your engine bay?
