We bought it from a SHO enthusiast that fucked his back up badly and needed to get a bigger car. (he had a hell of a time getting in and out of this thing.)
It starts up fantastic, drives straight, has some small play in the steering wheel but it's still responsive as hell. No troubles with the transmission even during "spirited" driving.
All interior electronics work. Blows hot/cold air just fine. The god damn thing has more features than my car... power seats adjusting in every way possible, power climate controls, ect ect. New clarion CD player with AUX hookup, tinted windows. The drivers side lock motor may need replaced, it sounds... odd, but still locks everything.
All leather seats, a small tear or two though. Air bag side bolster has a leak in it on the driver side though. I need to get some floor mats, repair a few cracks in the dash, and a couple of other small things.
So far, the CEL came on on the way home on the highway after using the cruise control. Car didn't act any differently, and I found out how to check the codes so I'll do that tomorrow. There's a TON of oil in the spark plug tubes, and it's dripping a little down the engine, so I need to replace all the valve cover seals. (Common SHO problem I learned...) We're going to go ahead and spend a few hundred dollars and do the "proper" 120k mile maintenance on the car. Which all includes:
Valve Shims, $3.19 ea.
Thermostat, Motorcraft RT-1112, $19.99
Valve Cover & Plug Well Seals, Fel-Pro VS50378R, $71.99
O2 Sensors, 2 required, 3.2L requires Bosch 15725, $57.99 ea.
Crankshaft position sensor (CPS), Wells SU242, $55.99
Cylinder Identification Sensor - Only if not working, Wells F134, $27.99
Intake Manifold Gasket KIT, Fel-Pro MS94831, $33.79 - IF you are disassembling intake
Timing Belt, Cloyes B248, $35.89
Accessory belt(s) - 3.2 requires just one: Gates K060854, $25.79
Water Pump - 3.2 requires: A1 Cardone 57-1458, $56.79 + $15.00 core
Water pump gasket set - not required, recommended, Fel-Pro ES70425, $5.25
Front main crankshaft oil seal, National 710220, $6.66
Camshaft oil seals - Fel-Pro TCS45870 - set of three, $14.63
---------------------------------
$412.75 + $3.19 for each shim that needs replaced.
Only pain is going to be finding a trustworthy shop to inspect and replace only the shit needed.... I would do it myself, but I've never fucked with V6 engines and I don't have the space to do so. (Any takers? I'll supply the parts.)
Future mods:
-Tint out all the lights
-New headlights
-Strip and re-paint the wheels (possibly powdercoat pending the shape they're in after stripping)
-Re-badge it (i have all the badges setting here)
-Re-paint the spoiler
-Possibly have an axel-back exhaust system built for it to give a nice low grumble. That parts not up to me though, it's the girlfriends car and money.
