Take some advice from someone who has one. They are great cars. The R/T with the CVT and AWD is not a fast car, but it looks pretty good. The Caliber has tons more cargo space than a Neon, we put our 50" TV in it (in the box) to bring it home.
The Caliber also feels bigger than the Neon due to its ride height. The Neon is a very low sitting car, even in stock form. The Caliber has a much taller feeling to it.

Sorry. Not hating on them, I just don't like them...
And I also was not comparing the Caliber to the Neon in any way. Two different vehicles in many ways.
I love how the SRT one looks, Trinity's is amazing looking. The RT looks good too. But would never buy one other than the SRT.

I don't mind people saying they are ugly, it's an opinion. But don't say it's a piece of shit, because it's not.
Mox is a bit of an exception because he is generally looking for a high performance car that handles great, and the Caliber does not.

i personaly like the looks of the srt caliber.... but if i had twenty k, it would not be going to one of those.
i would add five k to it and end up with an evo nine.
accually something i have been thinking is buying a rhd neon honestly... but that is a dream and putting my engine, bumpers, exc in that. but that will prolly never happen....

Junk and shit are a bit different to me. Junk is something poorly put together. Shit is something that looks like I pieced it together from scrap in my garage and tried to sell it on a large scale basis.
I think the caliber is junk based on experience I've had with them when I worked at an auto-body shop with my dad. Some of the things I saw were just chinsy felling so to speak.
But i'm done arguing.

waiiit. does somebody agree with me that wanting rhd, is by far the dumbest bandwagon-iest thing anybody could do?MoxHair wrote:Why? There are far more dumb trends in the car world. But yes I think owning/wanting a RHD car in a country that you drive on the right side of the road is stupid.
Driving in the Virgin Islands was a complete pain in the ass, that's driving on the left side of the road with a LHD car. Going around corners was scary and there were far too many blind spots when driving through the city. I wouldn't do it by choice if I had the choice to do it again.

I am actually faced with this situation. My Neon is like 4 payments away from being all mine so no payment! But the GF wants something bigger for us and the kid. Seems logical.
$20-$25K is our spending limit (we are splitting the cost of the payment and the insurance for both cars so it's ultra affordable for both of us)
I want a car. She wants an SUV. We might meet in the middle somewhere.
She wants a Pilot EX-L (used of course, certified if possible). If I have to have an SUV, I will live with a Pilot but I want a 4Runner Sport, Pathfinder or a Jeep Commander w/Hemi. If all goes well, we'll end up with a Ridgeline RTX. They are city trucks, I get it but a certified one with 30-45K is in our budget, my color/options and the hold their value like a vice. I only want to keep it 3 years or so anyway. A loaded Pathfinder or 4Runner would be great too but I want a truck bed. There are no good loaded Silverado/F-150s in our price range with the options I want. I don't want a late model Ram because the interior quality has gone so far down since 2002 it's not worth looking at. Not that Chevy or Ford are for dash molesting either but at least they hold up.
BTW, to keep on the subject, I don't like the Caliber at all, either. It might be a great reliable car but I would never know. Even the SRT-4 version is putrid.

I lik the looks of the Dodge Nitro. But why do you need something bigger for 2 adults and 1 kid? I have 3 kids and the neon is still the preferred mode of travel over the Grand Caravan (very old and tired Grand Caravan)

Yes tho, I am not totally sure y she would get it over a X MR, because she just leaves all kinds a of crap in the cab. I think she should look into getting a used ~2002 911 turbo instead for about the same price.MoxHair wrote:You mean the MR Touring?ragek23 wrote:the new fq300.
