Unless they are so long that they hold the car up, they aren't going to change the ride height. (And besides, they won't support the weight of the car)

Leaving them as is will only help in bottoming out. The struts will need the help.

NO...... DO NOT CUT THEM. It's that simple... I was told the same dumb thing and I listened. After 3 weeks of bottoming the struts out HARD I had to go to the dealer and buy new bump stops, take the suspension back apart and put that in. If you're smart... you won't cut yours.

cutting your bumpstops just allows the strut to travel down more, they protect the strut from slamming down too hard. If the springs are brand new, they'll need time to settle and will sit lower after they settle.

Don't cut them. I had prokits on tokicos, and never had any problems. After the springs settle, you'll bottom out regardless. Cutting would make that much more harsh, IMO (not from direct experience).

I have direct experience... it's terrible bottoming the struts out. It slams down hard and the struts will eventually blow out from that abuse.

Cutting the bump stops is more for struts with a lower shorter stroke where you need that extra little bit of room.

I think eibach recommends cutting the bump stops on all their applications. I remember it said to cut 1/4 inch off the bump stops on my avenger, but there was a good amount of strut travel since it was just a pro kit.

If you drive cautiously you should be fine, but when you hit that one good pothole it makes you cringe.
