Can anyone post the full drive cycle?

Post by DannyBoy » Fri Oct 30, 2009 12:57 pm

So I just fixed my check engine light problem and cleared the code. I know I'm gonna have to take it through that drive cycle before I take it to smog. So can someone post the steps please?

I know it starts with letting the car warm up for 3 minutes, than 40 to 60 mph for a steady 8 minutes, but I forgot the rest.

Thanks Guys!

IIRC the proper cycle depends on what kind of code was stored. I know with the lower priority codes, three successful trips without a fault will reset the code. What a trip consists of, I can't recall. I think it requires a certain amount of miles and a certain speed to be reached x amount of times. I've had mine reset with three normal trips to and from work, which are about 10 mins apiece with a top speed of 50-60mph.

What was the CEL for and what did u do to fix it?

Large EVAP leak. I forgot the code name.

I replaced the evap canister, which completely fixed the problem, but I just can't get it through the certain drive cycle.

this is what i do to clear the codes. take it to advance and have them clear the code and then drive for 50 miles if it is fixed the light will stay off at this point you will be able to get your inspection done.

Codes already cleared. I drove about 100 miles and it still wouldn't pass inspection the inspection.
