Rear struts

Post by Haganracing » Tue Nov 03, 2009 12:23 am

Hey guys, im going to get new struts for my 2002 Dodge neon sxt (oem replacements)..

The struts I have now dont have the swaybar bracket on the strut like other neons i saw at the junkyard...

If i get the 2002 r/t rear struts, will it have the sway bar brackets? and is it the same as the sxt struts I have now? but just with the swaybar bracket.

Thanks guys
-Chris

According to my dad all new struts come with the bracket. He bough regular non rt replacement struts for his 02 that looks exactly like yours and it has the brackets.

Oh ok, cool!

I guess they just didn't have them from the factory at the time it was assembled.

Thanks man!

You know, you should just buy coilovers.

^^ valid point. CO's are great, but you need to be ready for the change in ride they bring.

I wish you would have posted this like a month ago. I had both my Tokico rear struts sittin in the shed, with Eibachs still mounted on them!

not everyone has $1K laying around. :)

...although after buying struts, springs, renting a spring compressor, or just having them installed professionally (to save you the headache of install) it works out to about the same as coilovers... without professional installation... and alignment...

My friend's dad has a spring compressor :D

I only had to pay for the springs the first time (since my school had a spring compressor and an alignment rack ;) )

But this time im just going to buy the new struts and an alignment.

TRUTH.

But the second part isn't. I spent $200 on new Tokicos and $100 on new H&R Springs. $300 < $1000
