Windows

Post by DuhNeon179 » Wed Nov 25, 2009 1:24 pm

I just noticed this now, and it was fine through out the summer, but when I roll my windows up or down at the same exact time, my passenger side window is always slower. Could it be the window regulator? It's been like this since the cold weather. So I don't know if it's the regulator or just the cold weather.

The motor, or cable is not lubed as well as the other one. Spray lube the crap out of the cables, and lube the window tracks. Do all this with the window fully up.

When my Jeep windows got that way, it died, I had to replace the assy.

This is an event I observed many times on my dad's vehicles... he would always purchase them loaded and of course electric windows were always there...

I'd be messin' with the master console and get the bright idea to engage all the windows at the same time... invariably some windows would be slower than others.

Ah yes, this was back in the mid-60's... so nothing has changed.

My dad used to have a workshop full of electric window motors and miscellaneous spare parts.

don't worry bro i'll give you the physics circuit equation and you can figure out the difference in time. i think mines at .87 sec difference and about a 1.7cm off so its not just you its also happens on my mother durango and my fathers ram 1500 all from 2005 to mind you.

I actually think this was the only time I ever used physics outside school. lol

Was never smart enough to be in physics to even figure that out. So I guess it's just a neon thing? As for the lube Idea, I might try that

I took apart the one that died in my Jeep, and the lube had dried to a solid chunk. The new one is still twice as fast as the old one.
