cam gear?

i have a 2000 neon. 2.0 sohc mtx, i want to get a cam gear but i was wondering, with everyone here that has a cam gear, whats the best setting for it for the 2.0 sohc? where will i see the most power gains with it? any help would be much appreciated

AFAIK, a cam gear on a SOHC will only move the power band higher or lower in the RPM range, not increase it.

I hope you have a manual transmission. Autos shift too early and you wouldn't see any benefit. I might just get a cam gear and set it 10 degrees retarded since I have no power down low.... Oh wait, no one does. All of our engines are retarded.

yea its deff. a manual, i dont even think i would try to mod it if it was atx

get a comp 400 or crane 14 with the aem three bolt adjustable gear

Correct! If your motor's stock, don't bother getting a cam gear as it truly isn't needed, manual or no. Once you get a big(er) cam, a LTH, exhaust, etc. THEN a cam gear will come in handy. Especially if you get into a P&P head. Again if your setup's stock, you're wasting time and money. Once you have all the accompanying mods then get the cam gear.
