Well, you will get to suggest a place you want to be.

You will suggest about 10 options and then the needs of the Navy will take over. They do try to get you where you want to go, but sometimes it doesn't always happen.

^^^is somewhat true.

your music style dictates what band you are assigned to and the band's home area is where you are stationed. But the band is on the road quite a bit. especially around holidays. and the navy b-day and if you are by a sub base (pearl, san diego, norfolk, bremerton, kingsbay, groton) you'll be busy in april.

the instrument, i have no idea about. and i think if you felt like selling you antique instrument, you could pick up a newer one and have some scratch left over. if not, you could ask the band department head when you talk to him.

when they weigh you and you are over, they should tape you. you need another person to take a measuring tape and measure around your adam's apple. then have them measure around your "iliac crest" (if you pull a pair of boxers so the top touches the bottom of your belly button, the bottom of the elastic would be the right spot.) take 3 measurements in each place and take the average. plug the numbers into the calculator here http://www.fitdaily.com/BodyFat.aspx. you need to be at 22% or below.

Sometimes I wonder why I can't do anything the EASY way.

As of yesterday afternoon I am now enlisted as an MU. I start out as an E-3 and look to make E-4 within my first year.

I ship out for boot camp on September 21st and will be in A-School afterward in Norfolk VA.

god knows if I didnt have cystic fibrosis, I wouldve joined with my brother......still kills me inside that I cant help protect my country
