i need help with wiring!! srt swap

Okay so im pretty confused. I have the engine bay harness from a 2003 srt4, it has a black and a white ecu connector. I have a stage 1 ecu and an engine harness from a 2004. It has an ecu connector that is also white. Both of the white connectors will fit into the same slot of the ecu. And the black one fits in its own slot. I also have a engine harness from the 2003, but it was all hacked in to and would rather not use it. but it has an orange connector that fits into the other slot... How can this be? Did the connectors differ between the years??? Any help appreciated
