Keep Modin or Dyno?

Post by CrashTeam » Wed Oct 19, 2005 2:52 pm

Alright
Now im running the following

AEM Intake \K&n filter
60mm TB
Obx header
RT Exhaust

Should I devote part of my next paycheck to continue moding or should I take it to the dyno and crack the NGC myth?

Let me know what you all think...

As i mentioned on .org... NGC myth busting would be interesting. Doing a run as you pull up as is, then doing a run after a computer reset should show some differances if the NGC is truely keeping up to scale. And, if they allow it, get a coupon for your 3rd run and come back after doing UDP, Mag intake, Mag head, grounding kit, etc. Or maybe since its cheap enough, if they wont allow a 3rd run later, maybe put a grounding kit on to see if it actualy makes a HP differance (as its only theorized at the moment)

I'de say do it...it'll give you a baseline for when you do your 'serious' mods.

The big three can give a fair increase in wheel hp on most cars. It would be enough of a gain to do this test. + the tb was dyno proven on a mag engine to give 3.5 hp to the wheels on a 02...

Every local person Ive asked judging by the mods and the base specs are predicting around 130 whp for my current mod list. If that turns out to be true, Then Im right on track for my NA 150 whp goal.
p&p head/Comp200 Cam and New Intake manifold and Bet Ill be there. Thats in theory though, just based on the opinion of a bunch of local car buffs that hate dodges

I think If I dyno Ill do the first run with the RT exhuast then the second with the srt rear section then the 3rd, Ill reset the pcm and do a run with what ever gave me the better numbers of the first 2

:withstupid: I agree that a baseline....or at least as close to baseline as possible is important....I wish I would've dyno'd before I did my swap.

If you have the money, wich none of us do...
The best way is to dyno after every mod...
Why dyno after a CAI, header and Catback..wich gave what power?
Maybe the header gave all the power and the CAI and Catback gave nothing....
No one realy knows because no one has done it yet. The AVERAGE person will notice any HP increase by the seat of the pants, wich means atleast 10+hp. You will never notice a 3hp or a 5hp increase unless its on a dyno.

I was under the impression that mags and non mags both ran the same pistons and compression after 03...

the mags get the 9.8:1. the 9.3 is fine for me, allows me to run 15psi saftly. stock everything.
