That's probably because you're puting on vinyl ones. Do it the right way and get fiberglass ones, they look way better and install is a sinch.

I had vinyl, now have fiberglass.

FG is much easier, but vinyl is do-able.

Vinyl will eventually destroy the headlights. Don't do it.

My guess; the vinyl acts as a heat sink (as little to no light can pass through), and over time you get the old spiderweb cracks from the stress. This doesn't happen with clear rockblocker or light tint films, so the opacity must have something to do with it.

John post up the shot of what they looked like BEFORE you took them off. I put vinyl on my headlights and it was relatively easy to do, but the color didn't match so I have fiberglass ones now that I need to paint.

vinyl eyelids are a a piece of cake to put on

hairdryer or heatgun will be your friend...mine are vinyl and look just as good a fiberglass ones, plus i wanted shorties and the only place that makes fiberglass shorties is carbon by design and im not paying that price for them lol

have done s-style too, and i will admit they are a more of a pain to install and they do seem almost impossible

i dont know if your trying to install them with the headlights out or not but i have found that installing them with the headlights still on the car is much easier...

Mine S-Style went on fine. Dead of winter. Just have patience and be sure to follow the steps exactly. Left the headlights on, too. Helps get the eyelids even, and hold the headlights steady.

I even painted them later on, and the paint stuck and matched well. No problems here with vinyl. I will most likely use vinyl on my 00-02s since it can be "shaped."

They are a bitch. If you buy them you might as well pay to have them installed professionally but after all that its worth prob spending the extra money to get the fiberglass ones...............
