Oil Pressure

Post by rhys6r4 » Fri Dec 11, 2009 3:56 am

I have installed an oil pressure gauge and oil temperature gauge into my neon but the oil pressure shoots up to the top of the gauge and stays there. These gauges are run through an oil filter sandwich plate. Anyone got ny ideas why its doing this?

what type of oil pressure gauge is it? does it have a sending unit? cause if it does, theres a possibility you wired it up wrong or the wire got disconnected somewhere.. this would cause the oil pressure gauge to spike like that

It did have a sending unit so I will check this and the wiring to make sure all is correct, thanks!

Make sure its grounded properly since the electric sender is grounded through the threads, if you use yellow tape as your supose to, it can weakin the ground
