Widest tire on 14s

What's the widest I can go. Can I go 195/65?P

depends how wide the rim is

If it's a 5" wheel I wouldn't go higher than 185/195. For each 1/2" wider the wheel is, you can usually safely go +10-20mm.

It's the stock steelie. Two tires blew out so I'm going with my stockers since tires are cheaper

You can fit 195's on a 14x5.5" wheel.

I think they're 5.5" wide. In that case a 195 is probably about as wide as I'd go. 205 would be pushing it.

Lol, yeah, I forgot to mention that a stock neon steelie is 5.5" as well. I know I have pics of one somewhere.

Actually, just looked on tire rack, you can fit a 205/60/14 on a stock steelie. They are a little tall of a tire, but they'll fit.

Yes they will fit. I had a pair from one of my Sundances on my neon to get by when I bought it. (The tires were wasted) had to use considerably more clutch slippage to get moving, especailly on a grade. I ended up putting them on the rear.

They do suck up teh power tho. 195/60R14 is a decent size, just a shade shorter the 195/60R16's IIRC. The neon's (stock) torque curve likes them better.

I run 195/60/14 on my 98, and my 95 came with them. I really like the size.
