Post by Alex Kurdian » Wed Dec 16, 2009 8:05 pm

Hi All
I had my Solenoid pack swapped over the other day... I have the 4 speed Auto...Do I need to do any re callibration?
Shifting seems to be ok however gears 2-3 change although has a slightly longer shift?
I drove My Neon till it "SOLD" And then bought a Mazda 3 Skyactiv

I just replaced my TCM on Sunday and had the same thing happen, 2-3 seems longer. It seems that it's shortened a bit though the last day or so, but as I mentioned in my post, might just be me. I'm curious to know if it's necessary as well.

It shouldn't. Possibly the TCM has to recalibrate the shifts now that it has properly moving solenoid valves to work with. It should adapt on its own. As long as there is no slipping, or long delays between the gear engagement (engine revving) it should be ok.

Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.
