Installed my new tires...

Post by 2001 ACR » Sat Dec 19, 2009 3:47 pm

Well, I finally got the new tires I ordered installed. I got a set of Kumho Ecsta ASX's 205/50/15's for $69 a tires plus shipping from tirerack. Got them installed and balanced for $12.50 a tire, and got my car re-alligned for ~$70.

I wish I had purchased these tires a year ago. They ROCK! I get amazing dry traction and impressive wet traction. I have to drop my clutch from 2k rpms or more to get them to spin when wet. Which is really nice because my previous tires (Fuldas) spun no matter how gentle I was when it was wet. I can't wait to take these things to the track and see how my 1/8th mile times improve...

Ive got them on my car too.

I like them, but I cant say the same about wet traction. Theyre fine once Im rolling, but its still really easy to spin them from a stop in 1st.

Though, not quite as bad as my bald ass 712s. (i miss those tires)

Yeah, I can spin them if its wet if I want to. Whereas my old Fuldas span no matter what. I guess I should sink some $$$ into some Continentals someday and see what amazing traction is. I guess any tire is going to feel great compared to what I had before...

i have those exact tires on my nSRT.

they actually came with the car when i bought the car about a year ago.

i agree with Mopar00Neon, the do give excellent dry traction but in the rain/puddle they do spin in 1st if you don't ease out it. i think that goes for any tire lol.

well, i don't have any complaints so far about the Kumho ASX.

oh by the way, how long did they take to come in when you ordered them from tirerack?

Good call and the ASX. Great tire for the money
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...
