It was a reference to the comment I made about asking a squirrel to land a 747. It was a stretch, I know.

Was it actually the oil line leaking or did you just forget to tighten it down?

Just a few drops on the manifold is all it takes. Colton called me up in hysterics once over the same thing, but he caught it before it would have spread.

So if I accidentally spill oil onto my exhaust manifold and start the car it will catch on fire?

Say you were topping it up while it was running, when you just got off the freeway from a 120 run, and you accidentally dropped the oil container...well, anything is possible.

However, it could be insurance fraud if it was on purpose, not that they could prove it.

I beg to differ. My trans EXPLODED at the track yesterday and oil was everywhere under the hood.

I had smoke pouring out at the end of the 1/4 mile and all I could think of was Manny. I have never got my harnesses and helmet off that fast, and jumped out of the car, with the extinguisher in my hand. IN the end, no fire thank god.

honestly i think some of the problem was my oil line and then i think my trans did blow at some point, im getting ready to go lift the car and start taking stuff off from it so ill report back with what i find on the engine.. maybe the block xploded in the back idk. well see.

That's very possible too. Or a combination. Oil from the feed line sprays a bit, (or wasn't cleaned up enough) and an electrical line arcs and starts it on fire. Very possible.

Manny, I assume since you're taking parts off, you didn't have full coverage insurance?

I think that it was an electrical fire to be honest. Just looks that way, and with the electrical issues you were having it would point to that.

i wonder if a messed up mfs could cause a fire?

My mfs makes my headlights, tailights, turnsignals, and windshield wipers twitch randomly ( only every so often, but the way i make it go away is by wiggling one of the wires in the back. Its one of the wires closest to the d side window btw..)

Im just asking because electrical stuff scares the shit out of me, and i dont want this to happen to my car.
