Car wont go into gear when started, but shifts when off

I did an 01 R/T swap in a 2000

I have a Srt shifter with bushings

not sure whats going on, but i wanted to ask before i broke anything

hmmmm maybe your clutch needs to warm up before it will shift

That's because the clutch and flywheel are spinning when the car is on. You can shift without the clutch on any manual car when it's shut off.

Sounds like you have a problem somewhere. It could be your master or slave cylinder, my slave did that on the avenger.

Your clutch is not fully disengaging. If at all. Have someone watch the slave push rod to see if it moves.
