what do u guys think of the hx35. or the hx40. been reading and people are making stupid power with these things. like 396 on a talon tsi. these thing are on ebay all day long 150-250 used. and 599.brand new :twisted:

They make power, but at the cost of the powerband. They are just a big turbo for cheap. The difference between a good turbo and a shit turbo is how wide the powerband is at the application's boost pressure. The holsets only do what they are designed to do at 35psi+ in a neon. Toss it on a chevy 350, and that's another story. But either way, precision, bullseye, and the new Garrett GTX series turbos are what works amazing. There's a bunch of regurgitated crap that's essentially the same turbo that's been done for 50 years in different sizes. The last 5 years have been great for turbo technology, and with what's out there right now, a diesel turbo seems kinda dumb.

like said a holset is good if you are looking at 400+ with a built motor. but if you are going to stay more towards stock then you probably would be better of with a smaller turbo
