anyone ever get hit by an illegal

Post by v95 » Mon Dec 28, 2009 6:52 pm

Just want to know how insurance will work out and how police report will be filled.

some illegal asshole pulled out ten feet in front of her in there riced out civic and she slammed them pretty good. there are about five witnesses also to the incident who gave statements.

ps. happened to my step mother and her 2005 Dodge Ram 2500

It depends on your insurance. If they do not have insurance then there should be an uninsured motorist clause.

Sounds similar to my situation. Hit and run...insurance might or might not cover it. Uninsured motorist usually covers property damage, not your vehicle.

Uninsured motorist clause repaired both mine and my wifes car when they were involved in a hit and run.

well cops cops said she can pick up the report in two days and insurance is saying they will not do anything until they get the police report then they will make a decision.

honestly all insurance really has to pay for is the tree blocker to get fixed which is like a few hundred, it just has to get bent back to original place and the bumper needs a quick plastic weld.

and yes my step mother is ok. minor bruises and scratches she got checkout by the ambulance.

An illegal totalled my '02 SXT and gave someone else's identity and insurance information to the investigating officer on the scene of the accident. After the other insurance company was unable to find this driver at the address that he had given to the police, I phoned the Indianapolis Police Depatment and asked what would be done and was told that they didn't have the manpower to investigate. :cussing: My insurance policy :quotes: took care of things :quotes: (well, it was Progressive and I have outlined elsewhere how I got reamed by them). Thanks to an illegal immigrant, I lost a perfectly good Neon and was ripped off in the insurance settlement.

I know other people that live in Arizona and such that have been hit by illegals and have all been pretty much f'ed when it comes time to get things fixed. I've almost had some of those bastards hit me before, in a riced-out Civic of all cars (go figure), and they didn't seem to like the big white guy who could speak Spanish chase them down and yell at them through their garbage bag/packing tape passenger window after they started laughing about it. I don't know that I've seen any of them get so serious and so quiet that quickly before.

Best of luck with it!

I hope they get theirs one way or another. :beatstick:

you gotta know how to work the insurance system. i mean if your paying for insurance then you better get whatever car fixed that was involved in the accident. no matter if its an illegal or not.. insurance or not. they can always just put it under hit and run and still give you money. trust me i know. ive been trough many claims the past 6 months.

Uninsured/Underinsured coverage should take care of the claim if she had full coverage insurance and paid for it. If not she may end up fixing it herself.

So you paid in full, no loans? You haz more balls than me!

I only drop full coverage once the premiums become equal to/more than the payoff....

At least in Ohio, most uninsured/state minimum coverage only pays to $7500. Something to consider: The main cost of insurance premiums are the liability portion anyways, so the comp/collision is truly a bargain. I gladly pay $150 extra a year to be able to fall back on my insurance, and let their legal ppl handle it.

If the car is worth more than that, or damages exceed that, somebody is sucking it up.

I've never had a car payment to a financial institution on any of my primary cars (my Shadow, Monte Carlo or Neon). I'm thinking I may have lied, I might have had full coverage for the first year or two of my Neon. However, I can't truely remember.

We did finance the Caliber and that does have full coverage on it, but that's my wife's car.
