rpm guage question

I have a 00 atx se 3 speed trany and I had found another atx 03 neon in the junk yard with a 4 spd trany and it had a rpm guage. Could I swap it out and plug it in mine and have it work perfect or does it have to be a non-ngc?

the gauge should work. but the tranny will not - the 4speed is pcm controlled.

There may be an issue with the brake light. It will stay on. Most ppl just remove the bulb. But this might only be limited to R/T and SRT clusters. IDK if it is also an issue on SE/SXT tachometer clusters in non tach cars. I had the light issue with an '01 ACR cluster in my '01 SE.

I think there is a how to on fixing the problem, but it was a lot of work.

damm i t hought all clusters can just plug and play even a non tach to tach conversion. I just want to give my cluster a face lift since the black face looks way old and out of date.

We told you the cluster would just plug in..

ok so if i get a 4spd cluster will i have any issuse with red lights flashing on that cluster.

I can't guarantee you won't cuz I've never done that exact swat, but I'm gonna say no..

I believe its the abs light that flashes, and thats only when swapping in a srt cluster to a non srt neon. The cluster you are talking about should work fine.
