i need vibration reduction help
ok so i installed two 12" woofers into my 05 neon's trunk and the back dash (the cover that is over the rear speakers) rattles and make an annoying chatter when the subs hit. does anyone know how to take that dash out or how to make it better secured and more vibration reductive.

Well, by no means do you want to pull it out. That's the main support to keep your quarter panels from sucking in...
You could try covering it with some rubber undercoating, or possibly some dynamat.
I learned that keeping the child seatbelt covers helped minimize that noise as well.
Or you could just turn down the stereo. Or, hell, turn it UP so you can't hear rattles.

to answer your question, you can get to the back deck by removing the rear seats and seat backs (there's another quick way to do it, but i don't remember right now). Once you do that you can remove the rear deck carpet.

great stuff. you could get away with the regular version as well, but if you are going to do it once you may as well do it the best you can.

vibration damper is quite possibly the most important piece in a car audio install. i have spent as much, if not more, on this than any other single piece in my system. save up and get some good stuff and do it right the first time. if money is that tight you can get 40sqft of regular damplifier for $100 plus shipping.
thats not a bad price considering dynamat is pretty expensive IMO

I used a 100sqft roll of Fatmat brand on my last audio install and covered the ENTIRE interior of a 93 Prelude. The Fatmat worked just as well as any Dynamat I've ever heard. Plus we got the roll for $100 on ebay.
Really? Does my signature suck??
