BBS are 16x7. For some reason, I believe they came with 215/45/16 stock. Not 100% on that though, although SRTForums has a thread stickied about those exact wheels.

i'd use 225/45/16, assuming they are ok to use on 7" wheels

I believe that's the side that most of the ACR guys run, for optimum traction and fitment.

The 225/50/16 is 25" tall. So unless you are running SRT struts they won't clear.

Stick with the 225/45/16
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Also keep in mind the possiblity of the tires rubbing the body when the steering wheel is turned to full lock. Thats the main reason the SRT rack and knuckles are different.

They come with 225/45/16 I ran a 225/50/16 on mine and they will rub the front. I took them off.

SlvrACR do they rub all the time or did they just rub on sharp turns like dante said?

also with the rubbing that is only at full lock right? not just under mild turns.... i am on sportlines so i am kinda low....

My '01 ACR has my set of OEM ACR BBS wheels/tires on it. No rub of any kind. This car has also been lowered a bit. 225/45-16 are the original size and are on the wheels in that picture.

ok guys now i just did some MORE searching on this... the wheels are a go for me as long as he gets back to me... anyway... i look up a srt acr on tire rack and they show a 225/45/16.... now here is the curve ball.... on a 02 neon se with 16 inch wheel they show a 205/45/16.... i know that the srt wheels are a taller wheel and tire package... my biggest question is are these tires (if i go with the 225/45/16) will they effect my speedo.....

just a reminder i am an 02 se... NOT A SRT!

let me know what u guys think.... the 205/45/16 seems like it will not be much of a tire to fill the wheel well????

The 205s are ~3% shorter. The 225s look really nice on my '01. With the lowering the tires fill the wheel wells REALLY nicely. It's a pretty good sized tire but it works well with the car.

That should be a link to a nifty program I use.

ACR struts and 2nd gen struts have the same perch. Hence the reason ACR SRTs cannot run stock 17" SRT wheels with 205/50/17

To be closest to stock overall diameter you need to either run a 205/50/16 or 225/45/16. Your choice, both will work 100% but the 225/45/16 are more money and have less choices to choice from.

simple math:

185/60/15 = 23.7
205/45/16 = 23.2
225/45/16 = 24"

Stock ACR struts but lowering springs. Check my "garage" info here, I just entered whatever Jason put on the car into the garage form. I can try to get detailed pics for you tonight possibly. Won't be until after 7PM my time after work.

If you need something else just let me know:

Front tire, driver's side. Distance from the ground to the fender lip. There is plenty of room between the spring perch and the rear shoulder of the tire, half inch or slightly more. The tape is crooked, I know. I went back and checked again, it's 24 5/8" from the floor to the very highest point of the inner lip.

Image

Same thing on the rear driver's side, distance from the ground to the fender lip. There is about 3/8" between the spring perch and the rear shoulder of the tire. I can just about slip a fingertip between them. The tension rod is about a 1/4" away from the sidewall, fairly tight right where the red X is. The tape looks crooked but I had the camera at an angle, the measurement is accurate.
