Your CAI is facing the wrong direction lol.
The car will def wake up with a mopar ECU and 93 octane. It's probably the best mod I've done to the cars.
For the tach jumping around, it could be a loose ground, or it could be you need to solder your cluster.
If you actually delete the resevoir, and loop the lines, it makes steering easier, since you aren't trying to push through the pump itself. When I finally pulled my lines off of my 98, it wasn't bad at all.

CAI is back there by the exhaust I know, but it works, and it is better in the rain. With the 3.0 pipe it sits way too low. And the pipe doesn't fit now with the full airbox. Unless I have a reason to change it I'm not.
Maybe when I change the exhaust over.
I don't think I have a loose ground, everything else works fine. Also if it is the cluster it's just weird that it just started happening after the swap.
I had to extend the coil pack wires. Doesnt the tach signal come from one of them?
And tank will be getting filled with 93 and mopar comp will go into tomorrow morning.

No this downpipe is pretty heavy. Seems well made.
Car already starting to run better. Left work today and pulled out at the light real easy and floored it after I was going. Started smoking the tires. Spun some of second, then clutch slipped to 3rd

Well the car was supposed to have a new pt clutch, but it doesn't it has a new neon clutch. Another reason not to buy a car someone has fucked with.
I have a 95 flywheel here so in a few months I was thinking about going that route. But for now the clutch holds second fine so I just wont be trying to spin third.

Today has been an interesting day.
First it seemed like I was hitting fuel cut when revving over 6k.
Then the battery terminals were eff'd up after removing them to put the mopar computer in. After I got it back together it wouldn't start but the radio would play and the voltmeter was showing good so I thought the car blew up.
After I fixed the terminals I took the car for a ride and it was doing what seemed to be fuel cut again only at a little before 6k. Popped the hood on my test run and messed with the plugs on the injectors. Bad idea. Cyl 1 plug for some doesn't like to make contact and it quit working, then another plug quit after me jiggling it.
Car started popping and sputtering and threw like 6 codes (one of which was the lean code) so I shut it off and tried to get the wire on the best I could. Started it up and it was fine, drove a little down the road and it started doing it again so I had to drift as far as I can, get out jiggle the plug and keep going till I got home.
I filled the plugs full of di-electric grease when I got home and messed with the plugs some. Seems to be doing good so far.
Quite the eventful day. Does run good with the Mopar computer though.
Also, more goodies arrived.
Throttle Body Spacer. Not sure if I want to use this. My dad said not to because when they used to put them on the 2.2's it killed bottom end.

And a PT Cruiser Borla Exhaust Header to go with my downpipe.

Mockup on 2.0

Also tried to put my foglights in last night. Fuck. The adjustment screw and shit was rusted to hell. Broke both of those and ended up snapping the holder in half. So now I need the speednuts, screws, and one holder.

Yea, the kid before me bought a white door and spray painted it.2001rt32 wrote:lookin goodi want your roof rack! is it just me or is your drivers side door lighter than everything else?
To be honest, the body on the car is shit. The undercarriage is in great shape. It has all been undercoated. But the car has been painted before, probably with a spray can. It doesn't look horrible, but there are runs here and there. It doesn't match some of the paint because the whole thing hasn't been painted. On the fenders they only painted from the top down to the pin stripe. So when I removed the pinstripe there was more paint on top so I had to sand it down to make it even. The pass side has ghost flames. Hood is all dented/black/clear is fading.
It needs: Hood, Fenders, Doors, Trunk lid, and a few dents fixed in the roof and quarters.
It's not so bad that I don't want to drive it, especially because it runs good. But it still needs work.

Pretty sure the car has no phantom grip.
One-Wheel tire fire is the word. Pulled out today and it started spinning. Grabbed second and smoke kept rolling so I stay into it till it quit spinning once I got to the end of second and shift to third. Looked back and there was a long and dark mark. Just one. And it was the passenger side, not the drive tire to boot.
Messed around on the way home and some times it would start posi, but always go to the left side. The left sides tire pressure was also lower, so you think the right side would spin. I quit before it threw a diff pin. But I'm just pissed at the whole deal. I hate when it only spins one tire. Especially when it does it spins for 20 years. That's not going to go over good at a track.
My 2gn spins posi all day. Wtf...
Never buying a modded car again. Never.

Did a pretty hard 1-2 shift today and all the extra torque from the 2.4 told my clutch to fuck off. Went straight to RL and it wasn't spinning. Looks like I'm gonna be babying it for a while, atleast till the clutch wears some of the glazing off that it just got.
Now to decide... PT Clutch, or non-modular setup? I have a 95 style flywheel at home, so I'm thinking doing that and getting a lightweight flywheel later.
Maybe Fidanza Level 4.3?

PT clutch is what I have in my orange car and it works great.
But I like the idea of a lighter flywheel. And I would like to do an srt turbo setup later so the extra clutch would be nice.

A PT clutch will hold 270 WTQ, way more than that stock bottom end will hold. You could go with a Fidanza or a Clutchmasters clutch. I really love my CM stage 3 clutch. Grabs very hard, and is easily streetable. A lightweight flywheel, eh, I don't really see the need if you're not road racing, it makes it a little harder to start off at lights. In drag racing the extra inertia from the heavier flywheel makes it launch better.
What muffler is sitting at the back of the car?
And get that mess welded up!!

Will be going with pt later on.
There is no exhaust on the car, it's side exit. Only thing is the resonator.
I'm taking it to an exhaust shop probably tomorrow to have exhaust piping put on from downpipe back to stock location, plus a flowmaster exhaust off an old 2.2 turbo shadow that my dad has laying around.
Car is way too loud, and I'm losing bottom end with the exh leaks and no exhaust..

Could be. But if I stick my head out the window to look my ears ring. Not even joking..
On a side note I think the car doesn't want to spin posi because of the drivers side of the motor sitting up high and putting stress on the axle. The drive axle should spin before the long axle, but even with an almost flat tire the pass side spins.
On the way home if I would turn the wheel a tad bit to the left it would spin posi.
When I buy my clutch later on I'm going to get the tab savers. Just have to find a howto to put them in.

It's easy as pie really.
Pull the trans apart, unbolt 6 bolts (3 on each side), put the dif saver in, put the 6 bolts back in.
The hard part is getting the trans back together. That, sir, is a bitch.
That's crazy abuot the posi setup, I've never thought about that with the motor sitting higher. I'll stick with my 2.slow sohc and have posi alllll day with the phantom slip.

Well this trans was supposed to have a pt clutch and a phantom grip, but it doesn't. Might put one in it later.
I have to buy a trans mount and flip it to lower the drivers side.invujerry wrote:

So, she is running good, so visual upgrades start.
Bought new (Used) headlights and trying to clean some stuff up.
Going to be tinting the turns to look like your oh peein ones.
trying to get the fog situation straightened out. need to screws and springs for the leveler part.
Before

Sand with 400, 800, 1000, 2000.
After

Things on the need to do list:
Get a dohc hood that isn't beat to hell and then rustoleum paint it gloss black.
Get two new doors and find paint to match the rest of the car. Get a new trunklid. Either match it or gloss black like the hood. idk yet.
