Ahhh I dislike tail-gaters. But then again I dislike slow cars in the fast/passing lane and most of the time don't switch lanes.
I would be happy with the warning man. I believe he was profiling your ride too. Probably thought you had drugs or something.

You drive 15 in a 40 zone in the passing lane?

Not to hijack your thread but, everyone, please... don't imitate my poor decision-making and drive too fast. I have gotten carried away a few times recently (mild road rage) and I've never had a car that could react as quickly to erroneous thinking as my SRT. I've never had a ticket but, if I don't start using my head (and set a better example for you youngsters), I'll start accumulating them for sure.

As for tailgaters, I just slow down about 10-15 MPH so that they will get irritated enough to pass. No, no jamming on the brakes! This is what I was taught at vocational college (professional driver's training) and it works to keep you safe from being rear-ended by inconsiderate and :tardbang: drivers.

IF they are like two cars close I just slow down some until they pass. If they are so close that I cant see their headlights I let off the gas and slow down. Then when they try to pass I just speed back up and dont let them.

I know, dangerous, stupid, whatever. Idc, that shit pisses me off.

I hate that shit. My dad has done that, but then again, his 69 Camaro SS is 5 times faster than your neon lol. The biggest thing I dislike, is when stupid asses don't let you merge in, and your about to hit the end of your merge lane. Your supposed to KEEP LEFT UPON A MERGE LANE. Idiots. Not right.

You had the wrong attitude which i'm surprised he didn't give you a ticket. I have only been pulled over twice and i have zero tickets. I will admit i really messed up once and i had someone all over my ass and it wasn't a passing lane so i got pissed off and took off from 35 to 70 and a cop caught me and pulled both of us over. He asked what we were doing and i told him dicking around. He said alright thats what i thought now i know you guys are trying to have fun but you can't be going double the speed limit on the streets. If your honest the cop will be a lot nicer to you. I should of went to jail, lost my license, and got my car impounded for street racing and going double the speed limit. Learn from your mistakes and stop driving like an idiot.

i wasnt a dick to the pig, i answered all the questions honestly told him i was going 75 ,knowing it was 70 mph zone and about how close the car was. how was i suppost to answer why i had a radar detector? there not illegal in my state, i have it for crooked cops, like in kokomo when a cop said he had me on radar going xx in a xx mph zone, i told him i wasnt and ask to see it he said i couldnt, then told me to slow down and leave, my radar detector never went off. :bs2:

i was around 30 feet behind the car for around 15-25 sec before he got in the other lane to let me pass, i was getting closer as i was passing him when he wasnt all the way out of the lane, the cop must have seen that. im just saying the cop had an attitude like i did something horrid

o ya indiana state law on tailgating what he put as a 9-21-8-14

Following other vehicles; distance restrictions
Sec. 14. A person who drives a motor vehicle may not follow another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of both vehicles, the time interval between vehicles, and the condition of the highway.

- i feel like i broke no laws (except doing a little more than the speed limit  )

i know most ppl disagrees with me and r like :givesafuck:
but ive had more run ins with bad cops (lying) than good ones, hell my uncle-in-law is a cop he is head of the howard county jail and is running for sheriff and i like him he is cool, so i dont hate all cops.
just posted this to blow off some steam thanks for reading a wasting ur time lol

I just want to add, that keeping your radar detector visible when pulled over by a police officer is also grounds for more attitude from them.

I've been in your position before, and have changed my ways (for the most part). When I do get pulled over, I just fess up to being stupid or having a momentary lapse of judgment and have had particularly good success at getting warnings in place of tickets. Though I don't get pulled over nearly as often as I use to and still try not to get pulled over at all.

30 feet is too close.

You were wrong.

Also, radar is not the only method of catching speeders.

supposedly the rule of thumb is for every 10mph thats 1 car link you should be behind...now obviously thats not followed but your 2 car links at 75mph is way too close...what wouldve happened if that car in front of you wouldve slammed on their brakes? Believe it or not "pigs" do their job for a reason other than to make your life shit...He couldve saved you from towing the primered thing in your sig to the scrap yard or whats left of it. Get a grip on life man and stop whining about it

one last thing, still have no idea why this thread has hit page 2 and your still crying cause you got a WARNING. Get over it, no wonder the "krooked pigs" are like that to you, god forbid they do their job to serve and protect you

Sec. 14. A person who drives a motor vehicle may not follow another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of both vehicles, the time interval between vehicles, and the condition of the highway.
If this is how the law is read in your state then its up to the cop to determine what is an appropriate following distance. If he says you were to close then you were to close. End of story. There is no debate or argument needed. And if he did give you a ticket and you did decide to go to court for it you will lose. 20-30ft is NOT enough at 75MPH. You just wont be able to stop the car that fast.

But no, the cop was a stand up guy and gave you a warning. It wont cost you anything or effect your insurance yet hes still a dick? A warning is a formal way for him to put it into his computer so in the event you get pulled over again for following to close then they can see you been let go before and apparently you didn't learn a lesson. So then they will give you a ticket. And maybe you need to think it was a warning that you need to fix your attitude.

Im sure you wont be doing the same song and dance if your home/car gets broken into and you actually need a cop. So grow up and get over it.

Win, MK.

These are all valid points. Wanna know what else doesn't hold up well for you? You keep referring to him as a pig. "Pig" has been a term, often used, by the local (same state, mind you) ricers and fanbois. They hate the cops. Why? They pull them over for their illegal shit. Guess what? You've got "stock" body parts all covered in primer, likely an obnoxious exhaust, and you admitted you were switching lanes or some nonsense too close, which he probably saw you doing. He let you off the hook. From another troubled Indiana driver, be honest with cops, be cool, don't get pissy, and most of all...don't wonder why attention is always on you when you get quick attitudes after flying by in your "mad tytw wip."

Yeah, yeah. All I'm saying is, you got on to complain about a warning, then had to reexplain yourself several times when no one took your side. Personally, I think calling the cops "pigs" is dumb anyway, and shows your personality.

You also felt the need to multi-quote yourself saying you never said something, and claimed I couldn't read. So I quoted your single post that you didn't, proving you wrong. It's that simple. Sorry the feedback you got wasn't what you wanted, but "jokingly" insulting someone who has been through plenty situations like yours isn't gonna help you either.

OK, I've scanned this thread and I get the gist. You claim to be doing nothing wrong, and the cops are picking on you.

BTW, the law probably doesn't state car lengths, because that's WAY too open to judgement. Perhaps it'd mean a Yugo. Or a limo. Or a semi truck?

Here in IL, and I imagine in the rest of the U.S. it's stated in seconds. You must be 2 (or 4, admittedly I forget the law) seconds behind the driver in front of you, or more.

2 car lengths at 75 MPH is some NASCAR style drafting, and is way too close for street driving.

So, in summation, STFU with your whining, read the rules of the motherfucking road, and quit wasting everybody's time, OK?

You are supposed to be able to count to 4. Once the car passes something, you start counting. If you get to it before 4 seconds you are too close. Also, this only works at, or below the speed limit. Above the speed limit and you are breaking the law anyhow, but obviously you will have to give yourself more time depending on how fast you are going because it will take more time to stop, and you will have less time to react.

There is your driving lesson for today.
Tune in tomorrow for Drifting 101.
