Duraflex bumper, who has 1, r they as good as they claim?

Post by Car6on14 » Tue Jan 19, 2010 4:08 pm

Hi,
A guy drove into the front of my car 2 weeks ago and I need a fender and a front bumper. I found some online made from Duraflex.... Ive had a bad experience w/ fiberglass so im not sure what this is, the vids make it look flexible but thers a disclaimer says it varies by bumper... I kno urethane is good, and the same bumper is more in urethane, but the style I like is not avail in urethane. Anyone have any first hand experience with duraflex, does it really flex alot instead of cracking? or know where I can get an SRT-D or SRT4 front bumper reasonably priced? Thanks!

2003se, so uve seen it? i just asked a friend and he ordered a kit for his 240sx and says it black and similar to fiberglass but seems stronger... he had it on with zip ties for fitment and it came off and didnt break, I think i may have to go with urethane just to b safe tho...

O rly. Dats koo dawg. thx 4 da info.

Anyways,
I've heard mixed things about Duraflex. Some people swear by it - some say they hate it. I think it really depends on how much you want to spend. You said you couldn't find one in the 'style' you wanted? Is this a bodykit bumper? Best bet if you were gonna go OEM is either find a bumper in a junkyard or find a Certifit bumper on Ebay. Bodykits, well...you're more limited.

I have had a duraflex bumper, it was much stronger then fiberglass, fitment was very poor, if you want a kit, go wings west or xenon, fitments are really nice

In terms of strength:

1. OEM/TPO
2. Urethane
3. Duraflex
4. Fiberglass

I only paid like $475 for a brand new R/T-ACR front bumper at the dealer. Still needs paint, but not a bad price for brand new OEM.

This is partially true. Depending on your area, the price will vary slightly. Chicago Certifit only asked $31.75 for my '02.

I can tell you that. $687.00 for the SRT-4 front. If you wan't to stick with the SRT-D bumper it's $805.00

And the SRT-4 bumper is only the cover...no grilles.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...
