How do I wire a turbo timer on a 2nd gen?

Post by LCPLPunk » Tue Oct 25, 2005 10:45 am

Alrighty..

I've got a Greddy Full Auto Turbo timer on the way, what i'm wondering is if anyone knows how to wire this up.

I have this link off the SRT forums, i just want to make sure it's the same.

http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5038

Thanks!

It should be the same as the dash harness is practically identical other than the wiring harness for the boost gauge.

Looking through the FSM and the pinouts the speed sensor wire is also the same color in the Neon which is the White and Orange.

If you are using the fusebox method..........the regular neon fusebox(interior) IS DIFFERENT than the SRT box........I will try to take a look today and see what spots I tapped with my TT install.......

Not sure about your exact TT, but with mine........I only needed to hook up 3 wires and ground out one.........

Works like a charm...

That how-to should be correct for your application man.....might double check in a haynes or chiltons for the wire colors/application

I'm going to ask what may sound like a silly question...

Do you have a turbo?

Just wire into the dash harness in the steering wheel. I think my HKS was like 4 wires, 1 being the ground. What I did to ground was drill a small hole on the steering column where it ends and then looped the wire over like 3 times. No probs

Oh and the wires were the BIG red one for power, BIG Blue for Accesory mode, and I think the other wire was wired to the ebrake. (plus mine does speedo and tach so I wired those accordingly)

I wired mine up and the TT shot smoke out the back of the unit......then it blew 2 fuses!!!!.....I'm pretty sure I wired it up the same way the forums stated because the unit powered up and kept flashing "Lo".....then when I cut the car off....the car cut off and the Greddy TT shot smoke out its ass when I tried to crank the car back up

yea its the same in that how-to as it is for our normal 2nd gens. I got a cheap one off of ebay for $20, got that how-to and some other directions and it works great, and pretty easy to install. The auto function doesnt work too great on mine, it just goes up and up until it reaches the max. But it still works manually, and for $20 I wont be complaining. At first I wasnt going to bother, but then I got tired of sitting in my car for 2 or 3 minutes. Plus its great to see the look on peoples faces when you get out of your car with your keys and your car is still running

Yes, yes you can. Just wire it up and your good to go. You don't need to be turbo'd to actually have one. Its basically a little device that interrupts the ignition signal to where you pull out your key, it will still keep the motor running until the timer runs out.
