Mileage on your Clutch?

Post by Neonix » Tue Oct 25, 2005 10:48 am

Okay, to those of you who actually have a clutch on your neon, how many miles do you have on it? I want to see who has the most mileage on their clutch.

I'm going on 130k on the clutch that was in my car when I got it. And I need to replace it very soon.

I have 53K on my car and am on the 2nd clutch and 3rd tranny. Of course I haven't replaced anything that came on the car when I bought it. But they didn't tell us that when we bought it.
Justin- I have nothing but smart ass remarks to add.

I had a Centerforce Stage II that lasted like 1000 miles on my 01 R/T......

It was apparently "defective".... not defective enough to get my over 1k back though :-(

38K on my stock clutch, about 20k on the tranny, blew the old one up. my clutch is going out also, to much racing.

Wow. So apparently I have the most so far

Mine is alot of in town driving, stop and go, but alot of it is also long road trips. So mine is half and half.

But original tranny and clutch with 130k miles on it, and she's still running better then when I first brought her home.

I wonder how much life you can squeeze out of the original tranny and clutch?

Since this is back at the top, I now have 96K on my stock clutch. Still feels good. Probably won't change it until I have the block out to rebuild the bottom end.

105 000mi. The clutch is still aright, but the throw-out bearing is on its way out. Need to do throw-out bearing and rear main seal in the summer. Don't know if I'll buy a clutch though. It's still good yet.

it has a lot to do w/ how you drive the car.

my 2k1 rt saw a lot of this.

20,000 miles on the clutch/tranny before i blew the clutch. it shot through the bell housing.

I went through 5 sets of clutch and 3 trannies on the Magnum motor setup! lol

now Im running the SRT4 swap and so far the clutch seems to be holding up okay. But I have a feeling I will be replacing my clutch by September of next year. Im gonna be tracking at least 2-3x a month.

people have always said the pt clutch....b/c it's cheap b/c it's a oem clutch...but holds more power than the neons clutch...but you have to use a pt throw out bearing also i think

Hmm... I had 3 different clutches in my car, and I'm up to 40k. PT's what I'm running right now, and it's holding great. Enough to shear off an axle and run 13s in a heavy 2gn.

i had ~52k on my tranny/clutch when it started acting funny. took it in, was told it was the synchros. got a new trans with ~11k on it. same shit still happening. put a new clutch in at ~55k and it runs like a top.
