Kenwood Excelon rear aux and usb

Post by thefinest518 » Tue Jan 26, 2010 9:53 am

What can I do about getting these rear AUX and USB inputs to the front somewhere without hanging them out of my glove box? Is there anything on the market to utilize one of these two openings in the dash?

I think the top hole on mine was completely covered. Had enough space for 3 more defrost size switches

cars that came oem with traction control had them covered and in the middle of the two switches was a switch for the traction control.

You could always drill holes in the rear of those cubby holes, and run them through, so you can plug in what it is you want to plug in. I hot glued a piece of plexi glass that I mounted a USB charger, and a remote repeater module. IDK if you would want to hot glue the radio outs to it tho. It would be clean, but removing the radio might nbecome a huge PITA. Unless you had an extension for all the outs, you could then flush mount that to the plastic.

You are looking for this. I added the two switches to mine, but you could flush mount the connections there.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

my kenwood x993 came with a little mounting tab-like thingy for the usb cord. it fit perfectly in the upper opening of your pic. nice and clean. i don't use the aux-in so i can't comment on that but it certainly could not be hard to run a cable to the back of the hu.

So I should be able to pick up that piece with the traction control switch from a dodge parts department or a junk yard and add some inputs to it. I like.

The junkyard would be your best bet. $37.00 (or more) for just the bezel.

I believe he has a thread in the FS section.

viewtopic.php?t=46914

While you can't sell there, I believe you can still see that section?
If not, you will have to PM him.
