Firestone Winterforce....first snow :)

Post by LilSparkPlug » Thu Jan 28, 2010 9:24 pm

Well as some of you know Chris mounted/balanced the Winterforces (185/65R15)on the stock seven spokes on Monday. Today....was our first snowfall. It was supposed to just be a flurry, and it started as that early in the day but it coated the ground. Later on in the day we got slammed again....so leaving Chris' house tonight I was able to see how they did on VERY icy and snow covered roads.

I am BEYOND impressed. While other cars and SUVs were spinning out, Little Nee plugged right along. The car stopped well without slipping going down a steep hill, climbed right up others without incident. Took a sharp corner, where Chris' truck slid out, just as he would have in normal conditions.

Wet weather: They have great traction and don't hydroplane, I experienced this weather Monday and Tuesday.

Dry weather: No complaints here either, but they are a bit slow to return due to their tread. For the way I drive, this isn't an issue. They grip well when they need to.

Noise level: They hum, yes...they definitely do. They're not super loud though, and I think once I finally get a trunk carpet it will quiet down some. It's not loud enough, to me, to be distracting but you definitely know they're there.

I give these a 5 out of 5.....and would recommend them to anyone. Winterforce > Blizzak.

Oh most definitely, Nee has a stock exhaust though so these are louder than him. :) Something I will gladly live with for the safety, peace of mind and overall response of these tires in inclement weather.

Those do look pretty good. I'll just put some BFG All Terrain TA's on my car tho. Those just look too beefy!

You mean Firerock (ooops i mean Firestone) has come out with tires that are actually WORTH a CRAP ??!??

I have never been a fan of Firerock tires, but these actually sound decent.
I might have to consider getting a set of these in the future !!

I was never a fan either but their tread pattern is what drew me to them. After I put them on my mom's 300C I knew I had to have them for the Neon.....she's not the best driver in the world and the 300 is RWD so if they can get her through the snow they can get ANYONE through the snow. :D
