Today is the day of my Audition for the USNavy band. I'm pretty nervous. Though this audition is the least of my concerns. Tuesday I went through the medical aspect and apparently i have mild high blood pressure, a disqualifying factor. So after my musical audition I have to manage normal blood pressure for 3 days (recorded by a physician) in order to get a waver to pass the medical aspect.
I guess the good news in all of this is that regardless of the out come I did land another job if it doesn't work out.
Anyway, Just felt like sharing

Don't play second string to the real band...go for "The President's Own"
Good luck with everything and I hope the blood pressure goes down.

Well, I did better than average and should get my results by Tuesday. I did my prepared piece pretty damn good but the sight reading kicked my ass. It was harder than I expected and a big eye opener. I think I have a chance to actually get in, but won't find out till Tuesday.
Thanks guys for the support.

Congrats on nailing your prepared piece.
I did pretty good at sight reading, but that was way back in like 5th grade
I could imagine a recruiting piece would be pretty hard.

Screw Yoga... I thought I'd smoke a pack or two a day while drinking coffee and chasing it with MGD
Actually, it seems to be coming down and I've just been eating right and exercising like I have been doing. Last week was just a very stressful week.

Auditioning for the Navy Band. No job yet, but if passed the audition then playing clarinet will be my job. MEPS is a center in Seattle where they do the ASVAP testing and physicals ( yeah turn you head and cough...)

Funny thing about that other job... they cut it already. I found that out the day I did my audition.
But that is not important anymore. I PASSED!!! I was accepted into the USNavy school of music
So just a few small hurtles left to go and I've got a career
