Testing the waters: 05 Neon SXT

Post by 05sxt » Fri Feb 05, 2010 11:00 am

Hey guys/gals,
After coming to the realization recently that I do not owe much left on my Neon car loan, I've decided to put it up for sale because I need a larger car for my new real estate business. And before I get flamed by the Neon community for selling a perfectly good Neon, let me assure that my full intent is to buy a project SRT-4 within a year or 2 from now once I've got my next DD.

Since I'm not officially putting it up for sale YET, I will just provide some of the most important basic facts assuming that most here already know how an SXT comes from the factory.

Mileage - 36,000~
Color - PB8 Midnight Blue Pearl (relatively uncommon and in great condition)
Tranny - ATX
15" polished Dodge 'snowflake' wheels
Tires only 1 year old
Battery only 1 year old
Oil changed every 3000 miles
No sunroof or spoiler options :(
Tinted windows - 35% front, 5% rears (Texas legal)
Side moldings removed
Clear corners installed last month
Debadged the trunk

I am removing my aftermarket stereo and will replace it with the original radio that came with the car.

Damage:
Has a few typical minor dings around the car that aren't very noticeable.
Front door recently was dinged on the rear edge when the wind blew it out of my hand and into a handrail in my parking garage. This will be fixed before I sell the car.
Also, the front passenger wheel bearing recently went out but I will also be fixing that this weekend.

Overall this car is in great condition for its age and has really low mileage (i've always worked very close to home). I am thinking of asking $6000 for it.
I'm putting my feelers out there to see if there would be any interest in my car from anyone. Let me know what you think and if you or anyone you know might be interested.

I think that's a good asking price considering the low mileage, but expect to sell it for about a thousand dollars less.

Thanks for the reply. $6000 would be my initial asking price but I am willing to come down on it if there are no takers. The main thing I can sell it on is the low mileage so I at least have that going for me. Otherwise there are practically zero mods on it.

But look at it this way:
Someone is getting a perfectly good low mileage car with few mods on it! Its like a brand new clean canvas on which you can paint your own unique masterpiece. No having to undo some God-awful ricey bolt-ons or anything of the such!

Buy...Buy...Buy...BUY!!
