My '00 came with two of the Pentastar style keys keys.
The '02 R/T I mostly recently parted out had the 'Neon' keys.

Thanks! $50 doesnt sound to bad. I was thinking it would cost around $100 or more.LilSparkPlug wrote:It's around $50 to program the SKIM key at the dealership, the only place that can do it as you need both the car, the key and a DRB III available to you. The dealer would also be able to get you a remote and program that to the RKE as well.Mopar_Korean wrote:I have a Neon one too. I have never actually looked in the 2 years that Ive owned Nicole.
And while we are on the topic, Anyone know how much it is to get a new key programed? I only have one and I would be up a certain creek without a paddle if I lost it.
Also anyone know where I can get a new remote? Mine is showing its age with the faded buttons and the lock button doesnt work anymore.

Well, it's $50 for the programming. You still need to buy the key/fob.
iirc the keys are in the area of $50-$75.

Mine doesn't have SKIM, and just where the original keys are, is anyone's guess, as they didn't come with the car. Somewhere out there, someone has a set to my car.

Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

They do. Part #5018496AA...MSRP $71.60Panhead wrote:Does anyone know if Dodge still makes the key with "NEON" on it?
Also....
Chrysler Logo, part #5018869AB...MSRP $58.35
Ram Head Logo, part #5018690AB...MSRP $71.60
Jeep Logo, part #5018699AA...MSRP $54.60
Penastar Logo...this one is tricky. Chrysler has done away with the penastar logo by itself. The newer keys are dual marked. Penastar on one side, and either a Rams head, Jeep logo, or Chrysler on the other.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

The easiest way is if you have a grey head or a black head....doyle09 wrote:my 2000 had the penastar and my 2004 has the ram head, how do you tell if you have a skim key?
Black Head - Non-Sentry
Grey Head - Sentry
I looked to see if there was a Plymouth one available but since Plymouth was supposed to be the no option cheapo Crystal has all the only options available:
Ram head - for Dodge
Neon - Most 00-02 Neons
Chrysler Pentastar - Anything with a sentry system

just thought I would bring it up from the dead.
I have three different styles for my car.
1- neon
1-pentastar
2-chrysler....yes....you read it right.
The dealer made the pentastar key as they could not find the second key to the car when I bought it...and the 2 chrysler keys were given to me.....how do you say...they were meant to go into a minivan...but they borrowed while they were still blanks...
don't ask me...I didn't borrow them.
now my mom will be getting keys that say "Strattec" on them for an extra key for hers.
