MPX projector--best bulbs?

Post by fearingdark » Sun Feb 07, 2010 11:57 pm

I got the MPX projectors on an 03.

i was wondering what the best bulbs would be for them. the guy at super auto toys in garden grove told me that the 55W Razo's would be really bright in a conventional housing but not a projector.

so without getting a HID kit what would increase the output on the projectors?

and how high of a voltage draw can i use without melting the projector or the housing? considering the use of a relay harness

voltage?
voltage is 12-14.5 Volt - what the alternator delivers.

look for the power.
I wouldn't go to high - it will melt your multiswitch faster than the headlight.

a relay harness will help you not to burn the headlight - but has nothing to do with the head output in the headlight.

But with 55W you could maybe melt the headlight. But puuuh - i'm not sure.

P=IxV power =ampsx volts.... so say your running 55 watt bulbs 13.8 typical chargin state so... 55/13.8= 3.98amps so your wiring harness has to handle about 4 amps... Physics LOVE IT!

Projectors really isn't what you have to worry about burning up. I would run a silverstar 55w in the low beam and then a relay harness and a 100w bulb in the highbeam.

If you are looking for output do not get anything with any blue in it.
