REDLINE @ 4K RPMs

Post by neweywhat » Fri Feb 12, 2010 12:11 am

ok hear is the story. seven months ago some attempted to steal my neon. took it to the wrong mechanic and forgot about it. he sat on it for almost seven months dicking around on it doing who knows what. i pull my car out of the shop and do what i should have done to begin with and have it taken to the dealer. the had it fixed in three days (only cuz of parts) all i asked them to do was get it running and thats all they did. it was the security module in the steering column the whole time. so after i get my car back i find out that it redlines about 4000 rpms. the check oil light is on non stop (that might just be the sensor) when i read the cone i get P0203(M) Injector #3 Control Circuit An open or shorted condition detected in control circuit for injector #3 or the INJ 3 injector bank

so i replaced the injector and ran cleaner also. it helped somewhat but did not fix it. i have no power but im guessing thats cuz i only have three cylinders going but i need to know what to do next.

It's a failsafe of the ECU most likely. If you are running on 3 cylinders and the ECU knows it, why would it let you run the piss out of it and blow it up? Fix the wiring problem to INJ3. If the problem remains, the driver in the ECU is probably shot. Replace the ECU.

^Yeah sounds like it might be the PCM to me too. Might have been damaged when the thieves tried to hot wire it.

The same sort of problem happened to my sister's neon. She was running on 3 cylinders and the spark plug tube had popped up... All I had to do was put some pressure where the wire met the tube and it fixed the problem
