4. Window tint laws?????

5. Do they have PLPD insurance?

Im moving from michigan and need som intel about Ohio. If youd like to add some info you feel would be helpfull..... ADD IT!!

Admissions Test, Or emissions?

Emissions, depends on what county you move to.

I believe there is a vehicle inspection that needs to be done to get plates. You could put that off for w/e time frame they give, or until your current Michigan registration expires/you get caught/warning for it. I'm not sure how many days they give you to get an Ohio driver's licence, and vehicle registration.

I thought front side window tint had to let a minimum of 70% light pass. The rear/backglass may be 50%

Not sure what you mean by PLPD ins.

Personal Life Personal Disability?

Not sure if that's what you mean. But there are some serious loopholes in auto insurance that lets them out of paying for deaths/medical. IDK if it is just Ohio, or a Federal F*cking of the people.

The initials PLPD stand for Public Liability and Property Damage and which is essentially the same as bodily injury and property damage (BI and PD) liability coverage.

lol ah the irony! :)

P.S. Most scooters that advertise '50cc' are actually 49cc. They do it because 50 is usually the limit for certain regulations.

Well my scooter is actually 80cc  But if anyone asks it 49cc...
I upgraded it for 60mph and wheelie's
At 120mpg i wanted to take it with me... It cost $2. to fill it up;)
When i was driving it to work during the summer (1/2hr away)
I was saving around $80 in gas..... now thats AWSOME!!!
Plus in michigan, if it is under 50cc (49) then there are no plates just a green long sticker that last 3yrs and cost 13bucks. Small scooters dont need insurance either so this thing is SUPER low cost!

Image

I dont have a current picture but i put a digital Dash in it and a 80cc Big Bore kit with Racing parts... I also cut the suspesion so it almost sits on the ground... My buddy busted off my rear tail light... I told him it could pull a wheelie with just a little throttle... he didnt believe me.... He smashed the gas off the line and flipped it!! Its funny when im at a light an kids in the car next to me a laughing then i take off and ride a wheelie down the street... beating them off the line is always fun too... but i only win till around 30mph... but that is fine in the city cuz thats the spped limit

Well even though its the "law" in Ohio for front license plats, a lot of cars here dont have front plates, or if they do, they put it in the front window like you see on some ricers, and as for emissions, thats a big negative sir. Here we have a thing called E-Check, Basically you have to have your car emission tested everytime you renew your registration... But thats only in the Northeast Counties around Greater Cleveland/Akron.. etc. Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, and Summit Counties. But anywhere else in the state, you don't have to do that, lol Thank god I live in Central Ohio,

IIRC Mopeds/Scooters of 49cc and above have to have some sort of insurance, but its been forever since Ive been on one, so I don't completely remember... :-k

As for window tent any darkness is allowed on the rear and sides, but the front has to allow more than 50% light in.. Some cops can be dicks about your tint though...

Lakewood falls into that group. :( It is also famous for another group.

E-Check is every other year. If your car model year is an odd number, you get tested on odd number years. Even on even years.

Oh, and it is free. It used to be $19.99 or something like that if you passed. I think they made it free to get more accurate testing, like in passing borderline fail cars to get the funds.... But wait, that sort of thing never happened.

You will have to lie to your insurance agent too. IDK if you can get insurance on a car registered in another state.

Crap I did think of that!! Well i guess thats not to big of a deal, i will be in michigan every other weekend (Friday-Sunday) so i think ill be fine... I think you gotta live in a state for 1yr to be a legal resident.. Not including the time your in school.. ill be going down in a mnth or 2 then to school in july so ill still be a michigan resident.... hhhmmmmm.... we will see how it goes i guess!!!! So Lake Wood falls into ECheck thing huh??? My SRT-4 has a AEM EMS in it so im sure it wont pass but who knows... Is there a way to figure that out before going?
A shop or something that can check? I have no CEL light cuz i removed the bulb (AEM EMS keeps the bulb lite all the time so i removed it)

I think if you're going back every other week end, Why bother registering in Ohio at all?

If you need mail here, just get a PO box.
