Solenoid leak again!!
Ok I'm about to give up on this car I replaced the solenoid pack a few months ago and today I find spotting on the driveway I take a smell and its transmission fluid....I look at the solenoid pack and it looks like its leaking ....this was a brand new mopar pack could it be faulty ?? I'm sure they tightened the pack well??

Srry to hear about this Alex, I take it the dealer did everything? If the solenoids are anything like the older ones (yes I know they're different) but they had a double O ring to seal it up, I suppose it's possible to be faulty. I'd be sure it's not the pan leaking first. Which wouldn't surprise me

Not
Not sure what you meant by the o ring? all the solenoid came with was a gasket?
problem is I got the solenoid from the US imported...I got it cheaper as here they want 800 bucks i got it sent here for 180 all up...so I would need to send it back if the pack is at fault....but it can be dont just a hassle....
can I ask though as time goes by would it need to be re tightened as the gasket is new? I heard that gaskets settle and need to be re tightened?
or its the solenoid thats F**ked!

If it's torqued to the right spec it should never need torqued again.Alex Kurdian wrote:Not sure what you meant by the o ring? all the solenoid came with was a gasket?

Likely just the gasket. Or they didn't tighten it properly. I think these are a common problem. Might need a new gasket. If it is leaking at the electrical connector, well it isn't good.
Edit: I found this pic of a failed gasket from a bad install...

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.
