Take out the four bolts that hold it in and take a look at it. It's probably something really simple like something loose or missing

Flintstones. Meet the Flintstones.
They're the modern stone age family.
From the town of Bedrock,
They're a page right out of history.

Let's ride with the family down the street.
Through the courtesy of Fred's two feet.

When you're with the Flintstones
you'll have a yabba dabba doo time.
A dabba doo time.
You'll have a gay old time.

LOL sorry had to do it.!!!

Is it just the seat back that is falling on you? If so, you may have a coin or other item stuck between the ratchet assby and the teeth on the recliner. I've seen that happen on a few used cars at the shop.

Or the recliner may be bad altogether. Is is replaceable though.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

that sounds like he broke something. hope your friend is willing to repair it, or at least pay for it.

Mine did that as well years ago, mine had dropped one of the short screws on the window side of the seat.

You've got 1 broken seat? You can HAVE my entire set of seats (front and back) from my 2000. I don't want them. Come and get them. Best repair for yours, hands down.
