paint question

ok so im probably gonna get alota shitty replies for this one but im just curious as t owhat you guys think...

im low on cash right now and need a paint job cause in tired of lookin at my car with a black hood and front bumper.. so i was thinkin of goin to macco and havin them shoot the car in the same color cause my tax return is already spoken for ( i already know i shouldnt have said this) and then next year havin the car painted again by a more reputable shop/painter.

let me know what you gus think but please take it easy on me lol jk

the key with maaco is that you do your research on the particular shop that you are having the work done. try to go by there and talk to the painters if you can, see some cars that they have painted, and if they are proud of there work they should have no problem showing off, its a franchise operation with each shop being owned by a individual, so work can vary drastically. and i would also do as much prep and disassembly as you can yourself to ensure it is done right. but with some research i have seen some nice paint jobs on the cheap

hahahahaha yeah i seem to do aight with the e blue

but ive been to a macco before and actually seen a car the guy just finished. it looked really good which is why im considering goin there for now. i planned on doing alot of the prep cause thats another thing ive heard is that they dont tape off shit and end up with alota overspray lol but thanks again for the info. ill probably go to the shop tomorrow and see whats good

If you're dead set on it, remove all of your moldings and such (as they won't) and like Teej said, get it ready yourself. Then you'll be sure to get a rather decent job out of it.

Yup. Maaco just sprays it. I think somewhere on here, someone's sig said "roll down your windows and get your interior painted for free!"

Do some research on the prep, cuz they are just gonna squirt it and push it outside. Save the cash on your own prep, let them spray, and it'll look better than most home jobs and last a fair amount of time as well.
