Output speed sensor? edit: different question
Output speed sensor? edit: different question
Has anyone had one of these go out? Is it a common problem I dont know about? Its from my 04.

Trans control malfunction, which leads me to the other code of Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit. Its being acting up lately and throwing codes. It was usually because it had little metal shavings on it which gave it the wrong readings and would put my car in limp mode. This is the third time ive cleaned it in about 4 months. Each time has been remarkable better then the last, leading me to assume its cleaning the trans out.

Other than a higher idle, I doubt it. Have you dropped the pan, and cleaned the magnet in there? That may help with the build up on the sensor. I would get a new sensor, as they aren't expensive, and as you know, they are easy to change. Even a bad sensor that doesn't set any codes can make it shift a little off, now that I think back a ways. The GF's Sundance was acting a little off, and after driving a known 10 mile distance the trip odometer only shown about 9 miles.
After replacing the output sensor it was fine, the mileage was also correct. But this is a '93 model, so what may not be that critical then, would prolly freak out NGC. Granted it was a barely perceptible difference in shifts, but when you are familiar enough with a car, you just know something is not right.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

If you have an old hard drive lying around, Pull the magnets out of it. (If you don't want to ever use it again) slap them on the pan, doesn't need to be internal. Those things will pull anything magnetic out of the oil. They are by far the strongest magnets I've come across.
